About
Founded in 2024 by Zakiya Jefferson, Queen's Court Tennis Club was built with a specific woman in mind — one who has always been curious about tennis but never saw herself reflected in traditional tennis spaces.
QCTC is Charlotte's only women's tennis club built intentionally around beginners and around Black women and women of color who have historically been at the margins of the sport. We exist to change that, one season at a time.
Our Principles
Our club is built on four guiding principles:
A Curated Atmosphere of Sophistication and Cheer
On-court excellence, off-court culture. Every QCTC experience is designed to feel elevated, intentional, and genuinely welcoming.
A Sanctuary for New
Tennis Players
Beginners are not an afterthought here, they are the whole point. QCTC was built around the woman who is just getting started.
Building a Network of Female Friendships
Tennis is the anchor. Community is the experience. The friendships built inside Inner Court extend well beyond the court.
Introducing Tennis to Diverse Communities
QCTC is an intentional access point for women of color who have not traditionally been centered in tennis spaces. This is not incidental, it is foundational.
