FAQs

General Questions

What is a First Serve Clinic?

The First Serve Clinic is a two-hour session introducing the basics of tennis. It includes guidance on holding a racquet, understanding game rules, and practicing serves and returns. The day begins with a welcome bag and concludes with refreshments, an overview of QCTC, and instructions on applying for membership.

Can I waive the First Serve Clinic? / What if I already have tennis experience?
Yes, if you have prior tennis experience, you may submit a waiver. Waivers are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and you’ll be notified of your membership eligibility. If approved, you can join the club without attending a First Serve Clinic. ** Waiver Applications are currently paused **

When is the next First Serve Clinic?
First Serve Clinics are held quarterly. For the most up-to-date schedule, follow us on social media, where announcements and registration details are shared.

Why do First Serve Clinics sell out quickly?
To ensure a premium experience with ample court time and personalized coaching, clinics are limited to a set number of attendees. Spots typically sell out within a few hours of registration opening. To secure your place, follow us on social media for announcements of new clinic dates and be prepared to register as soon as they are announced.

What happens if I miss a First Serve clinic for which I registered?

While we understand conflicts may arise, we encourage you to carefully confirm your availability before registering as missed clinics cannot be rescheduled or refunded. If you are unable to attend a clinic for which you are already registered, we invite you to register for future clinics to continue your tennis journey with us.

Do I need to bring my own tennis equipment?
Equipment will be provided at all clinics and events, but you’re welcome to bring your own racquet or gear if you prefer. Please note that upon membership, members are encouraged to invest in their own tennis racquet and appropriate attire to enhance their experience.

How long is a QCTC membership?
QCTC memberships are annual. Whether you choose monthly or quarterly payments, your membership will remain active for one year from your enrollment date, with all benefits included. Near the end of your membership term, you’ll have the opportunity to renew for the following year.

How do I become a member?
Visit our Membership page to view the Path to Membership. In summary, to join, you must attend a First Serve Clinic or submit a waiver.

  • Twice-monthly club-hosted Open Plays.

  • Exclusive opportunity to purchase a membership box filled with QCTC-branded goodies.

  • Six advanced clinics annually at no additional cost.

  • An exclusive members-only group chat for event updates and social connections.

Is the club year-round? What happens in extreme weather?
Yes, the club operates year-round. During moderately cooler or warmer months, accommodations are made at outdoor facilities to adjust for comfort. In more extreme weather variations, Clinics may be postponed and Open Plays may move indoors and transition to related racquet sports like Pickleball or Padel. If indoor options are unavailable, events may be canceled to ensure safety. While make-up sessions for weather-related cancellations are not guaranteed, efforts will be made to reschedule whenever possible.

How can organizations or companies inquire about partnerships?
We’d love to collaborate! Please email us at info@queenscourttennisclub.com with your inquiry, and we’ll be happy to discuss potential opportunities.

No, membership fees are non-refundable. We encourage you to review all membership details carefully before joining.

Can I bring a guest to Open Play?
Currently, Open Play sessions are exclusive to members. However, keep an eye out for special events that may include opportunities to bring guests!

Do I need my own tennis equipment?
Having your own tennis racquet is essential for developing your personal playing style and consistency.
